I Love Pink!

During my week off from work, we decided to begin working on her room. It is so much fun (and a little stressful) to search for room decor. I knew I wanted a lot of pink (which I realized isn't difficult to find because it seems that everything is pink), but I also knew that I wanted to incorporate black too. The first thing I searched for was crib bedding and once we found that, we were set! Our colors are pink, black, and white and the bedding has a mix of flowers, polka dots, and stripes so we have many options. Here are a few pictures of the beginning stages of her room, including the very pink walls!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice.... That's what little GIRLS are made of!

When we received the news that we were having a girl, we were more than thrilled. Actually I believe that I was thrilled and I think Billy was more or less a little nervous and was envisioning us going into great financial debt....this was his initial response but now that he's accepted it, he is very happy that I will have my little girl and hey she can be daddy's little girl too. He treats me like a princess and I know he will do the same with Miss Journee!

I think I immediately started searching for room decor, and everything GIRL and I haven't stopped since then! It is so fun to look at girly things... After all, what would I have done with a boy? I think Billy was a little afraid that if we did find out we were having a boy, he would come home from work and our little boy would be wearing sailor suits (or something like that) or I would be taking him to get a manicure and pedicure.... at least now he can be put at ease knowing if I'm getting a mani and pedi with our child, it will be with our little girl!

A little difficult to see but it say's "I'm a girl!"

Pregnancy

When I took a pregnancy test on October 8th, we were shocked and overjoyed by the positive result. Actually I believe I took several tests but all were positive so our "Journee" began from there.

Pregnancy has not been an easy feat by any stretch of the imagination .... I kind of envy those moms out there that LOVE being pregnant and sail right through pregnancy (although not sure I totally believe them). Morning sickness pretty much kicked in from about the 8th week and did not subside until about week 17. Aside from that, I'm pretty certain that I've endured every possible pregnancy "side effect" from lack of sleep to horrific migraines to hearburn to some things I will abstain from mentioning! But despite all of that, I am thrilled to be carrying this blessing and look forward to the day I'll be able to hold her in my arms!

We took these pictures at my cousin Erin's wedding, the day after we found out we were expecting
