Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!

We can't believe that Miss Journee is 6 months old today! We are not quite sure where the time has gone.
A quick little recap of some of her accomplishments lately...She now has 2 bottom teeth and actually the 2nd one popped up shortly after the first one did. She has been doing really well with eating her solids. We've discovered that Journee really likes pears, squash, and sweet potatoes, but she does not like avocado, peas, or carrots!
She also is crying much less now (which mom and dad are SOOOOOOO happy about!!!) and seems significantly more content these days.
One of her biggest accomplishments actually happened this morning.... She "officially" rolled over for the first time! I say "officially" because she actually has rolled over a few times, beginning a couple weeks ago for her sitter, but since this is the first time I've seen it, we are going to count this as her first time! :) I suppose now that she is a big girl at 6 months old, she felt it was time to show off!
At her 6 month check up, she was 14 lbs, 6 oz!
It's difficult to believe that in 6 months from today, we'll be celebrating our baby girl's 1st birthday... but for now we'll focus on the present and enjoy everything about her!

We went to visit Santa on her 1/2 birthday

We snuck this shot on our cell phone. Journee was all smiles for Santa!

Big Girl

Our little girl is growing up....Not only did she get her first tooth this past week but we also decided it was time for her to move out of our room and into her crib. That was a tough decision that we've been putting off for weeks and weeks. We'd grown so accustomed to her being right there beside us in her little rocker that it became difficult for us to even fathom the idea of her "moving out". She actually did very well her first night and only got us up once and went right back to sleep.
In addition, we took Journee in for her weight and height check and she is now a whopping 13 lbs, 6 oz and 24 3/4 inches long!

Journee got her first tooth on November 8th

Tried to get a picture of her tooth, which came in on the bottom, but it was nearly impossible so this was the best I could capture

Journee's first night in her crib... she woke up very happy!

First Halloween

When we were out shopping one day, we saw a USC cheerleader outfit and decided that would make the perfect 1st Halloween costume for Miss Journee Rose, since her daddy is a USC football fan. We spent the Saturday before Halloween at our friend's house. Journee wasn't quite big enough to carve her own pumpkin but she hung out in the exersaucer and watched all the festivities.
For Journee's 1st Halloween, we went out for a sushi dinner.... no trick or treating this year but I'm sure that's something to look forward to next year!

She still looks like a lil' peanut in her daddy's arms

She even has the #1 sign down!

5 month catch up

Journee has become so much more active lately and is curious about absolutely everything around her. It is so much fun to see her interested in new things. Teething is another new adventure we've taken on and that one we can do without! Here are just a few miscellaneous pictures of our lil princess. Oh and by the way, our "little peanut" is no longer a peanut.... she has just been growing like crazy lately!

Journee always covers her face like this when she eats... we call it her Diva pose!

Adventures in Eating

Now that Journee is 5 months old, we decided it's time to try some solid food. We started with rice cereal, and although she doesn't really swallow much of it, and the majority of it ends up on her face and body, she is doing pretty good with it!

Lil' Monkey

Journee has officially discovered her feet and apparently they are quite tasty since she finds every opportunity to put them in her mouth!

Cousins!!

Journee was very excited to get together with all her cousins a couple weeks ago. Apparently she wanted to make it clear that she is a Diva though and made sure to cry almost the entire time we were together. I think it was just her way to make sure she was getting attention the whole time, since she is the only girl and she has a lot of boys to keep up with!
