Adventures in Eating

Now that Journee is 5 months old, we decided it's time to try some solid food. We started with rice cereal, and although she doesn't really swallow much of it, and the majority of it ends up on her face and body, she is doing pretty good with it!

Journee has officially discovered her feet and apparently they are quite tasty since she finds every opportunity to put them in her mouth!

Cousins!!

Journee was very excited to get together with all her cousins a couple weeks ago. Apparently she wanted to make it clear that she is a Diva though and made sure to cry almost the entire time we were together. I think it was just her way to make sure she was getting attention the whole time, since she is the only girl and she has a lot of boys to keep up with!

Bling

One of the things I was really looking forward to when I found out I was having a girl was getting her ears' pierced.... Today seemed like the day to do it and I believe Miss Journee is pleased with the results, based on all the smiles we've gotten since then!
Billy was a little apprehensive as he thought it was unnecessary pain to inflict upon her. I informed him that it is just the first of many painful things she will undergo for the sake of beauty... just part of being a girl!! :)

Our Happy Princess!

At Journee's 4 month doctor appointment last week, she was finally just under 11 lbs.... 10 lbs 14 oz to be exact. She just brightens up our days!

Cheeeeese!

The very first time Journee gave us a 'real' smile, it absolutely melted our hearts.... and continues to do so each time since then! She is just all smiles lately and we think she has possibly begun to chuckle as well. Of course every time we grab the camera to take a picture of her smiling face, she then becomes more interested in staring at the camera than anything else so the smile isn't always easy to capture!
